We analysed specifics of manufacturing items including large rocket engine casings in order to reveal issues related to deformations in the most loaded structural elements of the mandrels, directly affecting geometric parameters of the finished item. We consider measures aimed at hardening the curved surface of sand-polymer mandrels. We selected high-yield materials for metallic elements of sand-polymer mandrels, which made it possible to prevent any plastic deformations in them during item manufacturing
