A method of recovery of magnetic and elastic composite is described as well as its main properties: deformation in non-uniform magnetic fields at stationary and dynamic regimes, a change of the elasticity modulus in uniform magnetic fields, the magnetostriction and shape memory effect, the elasticity anisotropy of composite, synthesized under the magnetic field. A feasibility of its application as an active damping device is considered. The construction of a damper on the basis of the magnetic and elastic composite is described; its characteristics and investigation results are presented.
