Determination of Stress and Strain State of Rigid Wires in Air Flow

An algorithm is stated for numerical solving of nonlinear equilibrium equations of transmission line wires being in the steady air flow. The wire is presented as a non-stretched rod with torsional and bending stiffness. Expressions are given for aerodynamic forces with an arbitrary direction of a vector of the air flow velocity, which take into account a continuous change of a space position of the wire axial line at loading. The nonlinear equations are numerically solved by application of a method of successive loading with precision evaluation of numerical results.
