Stability of Flexible Shaft during Slow Rotation in Rigid Channel

The theory and numerical solution of equilibrium equations are set out for the flexible shaft inserted in the rigid channel. A mode of the slow rotation of the shaft at the channel entrance is considered. An interval of shaft to channel curvatures ratio values is determined, at which the stable rotation of the shaft takes place, when with the continuous change of the "input" angle the "output" angle changes continuously. It is shown that at the curvatures ratio prevailing a certain value the stability of the shaft rotation is lost.
