Based on the theoretical analysis and experimental studies of hydrodynamic processes in multi-disc frictional units, a technique is developed that allows one to optimize a number of construction parameters of disc frictions and brakes to minimize power losses. A general form of the dependence of wear for metal-ceramic discs, operating in pair with steel discs, on the skid process parameters is determined. The suggested algorithms make possible to predict main factors of reliability and life of frictional units at the stages of design, development and engineering of transmission systems of caterpillar vehicles.
