Strength Criteria of Transversally-Isotropic Materials of Different Classes of Structure Symmetry

Five possible symmetry classes of the structure of transversally-isotropic materials are considered. Based on functional bases of the stress tensor relative to the appropriate groups of orthogonal transformations, general expressions for the strength criteria are derived. Differences of criteria are revealed for transversally-isotropic materials of different symmetry classes.
