Rapid Method of Lubricants Viscosity Laser Control in Machines and Mechanisms Operational Process

The study tested the rapid method for determining kinematic viscosity and lubricants viscosity index by using the nephelometric technique. The method is based on the principle of laser phase analysis — scanning of the liquid medium in the process of changing its temperature. Viscosity was determined by the free liquid flow in a cuvette. The proposed method has several advantages compared to other rapid methods, namely high accuracy and testing rate, convenience of implementation as a rapid tool. The characteristic feature of the method is that the contamination (change in density, optical clarity, etc.) does not affect the determined kinematic viscosity figures. This method is aimed at maintaining the effectiveness of the lubrication rate in machines and various equipment.
