The article gives the concepts of operational and technical resources and identifies a rational operating mode corresponding to the maximum production during the period of resistance and minimum wear of the tool, as well as some factors influencing the choice of cutting parameters that were not previously taken into account. We study examples of cutting parameters and their application making use of the graph of dependence of the resistance and the operating age on the cutting speed. Moreover, we show examples of approximations of the stability relations and the limits in which the power equations can accurately describe the experimental data. Finally, we give the data allowing to calculate optimal cutting parameters while maintaining the criterion of the required reliability of the cutting tool.
