Current State and Development Prospects of Automated Control and Adjustment Systems in Thermal Power Plants

The paper substantiates the importance of research dealing with improving automated control and adjustment systems in thermal power plants. The main objects of our investigation are control and adjustment systems found in internal combustion engines. We show how far the fuel efficiency and exhaust gas toxicity indices can improve in such systems. We consider the scope for further improvement of engine power characteristics and dynamic parameters by means of control and adjustment systems. We estimated the degree to which automated control and adjustment systems in thermal power plants are advanced currently and drew conclusions regarding their development prospects. We considered the primary directions for investigations in the field of fuel injection equipment for diesel engines, their work cycles, and adapting engines to running on various alternative fuels, including biofuels
