Aspects of inversion of technological notions of "cutting tool" and "processed material" are considered. It is shown that the ultra high-speed jet of liquid may be considered not only as a cutting tool in hydrocutting of materials but also as a specific material being processed, i.e., the hydrotechnological medium, subjected to the ultra-jet activation. Peculiarities of energy conversion are studied, and a role of shock-wave energy in the form of the acoustic emission is underlined as a dominating factor of the hydrotechnological medium activation. Five main areas of the energy conversion are found in the zone of the hydrotechnological medium processing, and the generalized structural scheme of their interaction is suggested.
