Modern trends and points of view for the development of advanced power units of flying vehicles are generalized. A construction of the nozzle unit of the jet engine which was experimentally studied is offered. Two approaches are implemented in the construction: a modular approach for the propulsion unit and the development of multi-mode auto-regulated nozzle devices. Physical phenomena are explained which take place in the offered construction. Real advantages of the construction are demonstrated in comparison with the traditional axis-symmetrical critical height nozzle.
