The computational radiation-and-gasdynamic model for dynamics of fire balls, which may arise during the launch pad or flight explosion of space-purpose boosters, is presented. The model is based on the full two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with introduction of effective transfer properties (taking into account the turbulent nature of mixing the rocket propellant combustion products with ambient air) and also on the multigroup equations of the heat radiation transfer. The numerical study of the fire balls is performed for those arising in the result of the "Proton" booster explosion near the launch pad. The great influence of radiation heat processes on the dynamics of the fire balls is shown.
