Simulating wave processes in working parts of forge hammers

A model of interaction between impact masses of forge hammers, is proposed. A modified finite element simulating both small elastic and large kinematic displacements, is analyzed. Identification of model parameters for the elastic-plastic contact on the basis of experimental data, is given. Maximal forces in mutually impacting working parts of forge hammers with different velocities, are calculated. An image of the deformation wave distribution at the impact, is presented.
