Weight minimization based on the Hessian matrix derived from finite element sensitivity analysis and equality constraint conditions incorporated by Lagrangian multipliers, are formulated. The weight change is simulated by the second-order Taylor series expansion. The Validity and efficiency of the proposed formulation are examined by numerical example concerned with a connecting rod of internal combustion engine.
