A method to compute the local nitrogen oxides concentrations in reciprocators with direct fuel injection is suggested. Values of the working medium temperature are obtained which are used for computation of concentrations of the nitrogen oxides on the basis of the expanded Zeldovich mechanism. Values of kinetic reaction constants are chosen which correspond to the reciprocator conditions. The suggested method to compute the NOx ejection is recommended for the engine class under consideration.
